The(NSIC) set up the MSME – Marketing Intelligence cell for the assistance of MSMEs
The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) has set up the MSME – Marketing Intelligence cell for the assistance of micro, small and medium enterprises. This has been done following the recommendation of the Task Force set up by Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The MSME-Marketing Intelligence Cell was inaugurated by Mr.T.K.A.Nair, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India in Delhi on Sunday.
Nair said, while congratulating both the ministry of MSME and NSIC team that apart from lack of access to credit, the biggest obstacle facing the Indian MSMEs is that of marketing as they struggle in an increasingly competitive and globalised economy, wherein, they face competition not only from large industries in the nation but also from companies based abroad.
He said that marketing is extremely important for the growth of any industry whether it is big or small.
He said that the establishment of the marketing intelligence cell will help in the growth of the MSME sector .He said that the MSMEs should make full use of the centre in becoming globally competitive.
Dinesh Rai said that the NSIC has established the marketing intelligence cell for the benefit and development of MSME sector. The cell will collect and disseminate domestic as well as international marketing intelligence to MSMEs, which would enhance their marketing capabilities.
The centre will create awareness about various programmes and schemes for MSMEs and will particularly maintain database and disseminate information on the following-
Data base of Bulk Buyers (product wise) Buyers in Govt. / PSU’s
Data base of Rate Contracts of Various Govt. Departments & PSUs
Information on Tenders floated by Govt. Departments and PSUs.
Database of Indian Exporters to Various Countries with Products.
Database of International Buyers with Products.
Database of Technology Suppliers & Projects for MSMEs.
List of Micro & Small Enterprises registered with NSIC for govt. purchase, raw material assistance, performance & credit rating schemes.
CMD ,NSIC, Mr H P Kumar said, “The NSIC marketing intelligence cell will integrate the available information at one source to enable the MSMEs to avail and strengthen their efforts in a focused manner.”
