1.Franchise India (FI): What was your prior occupation and what made you consider entrepreneurship?
Srish Kumar Agrawal(SKA): I was in college when this journey started way back in 1997. I always had the dream of doing something on my own to ensure that I could do my bit in reducing the problem of unemployment.
We had a small space of about 150 sq. ft. which I wanted to put to good use. In 1997, Internet was something very new for Kolkata and I took the initiative of starting the first cyber cafe of Kolkata, which received quite a bit of media coverage as well.
2. (FI): What is your product offering? What are your key differentiators?
(SKA): We offer Corporate Branding, Graphic Design, Print Design and Web Design Services. We have been rated as one of the Top 5 Logo Design Companies by various Websites. The quality of our designs and the people who design them are the major differentiators.
We operate in the little explored domain of Logo Design, Graphic Design and Print Design,
(SKA): We are ranked as one of the Top 5 Logo Design Companies in the World and recognised and awarded by NASSCOM as one of the Top 10 Emerging Companies in India .We are serving companies globally since the last decade and have 10,000+ clients from 50+ countries.
Our strength lies in In-house Training Facility, Streamlined Start-to-End Process, Fail-Safe Infrastructure, Commitment to Quality Service and Passionate Team Members.
4. (FI): How did you fund your business?
(SKA): Initial investment was pretty small, about 2 lakhs, so it was funded by my family.
5. (FI): How was experience of hiring your first employee, building a team or finding a co-founder?
(SKA): We requested a multimedia school to send us a few students. They sent us 2 students and both of them were absorbed. In the initial days neither myself nor those students were very demanding, so the relationship worked perfectly well.
6. (FI): What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far and what was the strategy to deal with it?
(SKA): When we started, what we were offering was something new, so people with correct expertise and experience were not available. Thus the biggest challenge was to get correct people.
So, we recruited freshers and provided them in-depth training and then put them on client projects.
7. (FI): What are the key marketing and building strategies for your business?
(SKA): We are trying to set-up a marketing office in US. We are partnering with various graphic design and web design companies who can work as our partners and resellers. We are also trying to build some websites in local languages for countries like, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark etc. so that we are able to tap clients in those countries as well.
8. (FI): What is your growth plan for the next coming 3 years?
(SKA): We expect to reach a turnover of about 18 crores in the next 3 years. Keeping in view the present marketing based investments and initiatives, this is pretty achievable.
