Online marketplace askmeBazaar.com is planning to launch a new 'services' section on its website within a year to provide its consumers a wide variety of facilities like plumbing, painting, carpentry and much more, says a PTI report.
Commenting on the matter, Kiran Murthi, CEO, askmeBazaar.com, told PTI: "I want to sell everything from forging equipments, aircrafts to nuts and bolts on askmeBazaar.com. We do not sell services as of now but we will look at it at a later date. Once we have stabilised on the product side."
Besides, the company has plans to introduce customer utility services like home and restaurant services.
On when the company will begin selling services, he said: "In six months to a year."
Currently, sites like as easyfix.in, onefix.in offer similar services at smaller scale.
Sharing his thoughts on expanding the product category, Murthi further told PTI: “The company is expanding very fast and adding 170 new sellers every day. Further, we have a lot to do on the product side. I am working on selling digital downloads, grocery, bulk buying (of fruits, groceries etc), bulbs, tubes, fans and faucets. Besides, by calender year 2015 end, we are aiming to have two lakh retailers on their platform. These new sellers will be across categories."
As per the company, it has around 17,000 retailer at present, and is planning to participate in the forthcoming Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) 2014 to be held from 10-12 December.
