The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) in enabling more credit flow to the MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) sector. It has provided credit worth Rs 1,500 crore up to December 1, 2009 to 10 banks. This was stated by Dinsha Patel, minister of state (independent charge) in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
The minister also said that for the 11th Plan, the bank might disburse credit to the tune of Rs 13, 98, 803 crore for boosting production and for employing 391.73 lakh people in the terminal year (2011-12) of the Plan period.
