In a recently released press statement, Shruti Agarwal, CFO, Knowlarity said, "Knowlarity is on track to become a world leader in cloud telephony. We are delighted to join forces with other companies that have the same aim and are especially pleased to have successfully acquired the talented team at Unicom. We consider this as a first step for the many M&A deals in the pipeline for 2014, the end result of which will be to streamline and consolidate the cloud telephony market in India."
Unicom Techlabs, starting out in May 2012, introduced their cloud telephony service, cloud line, soon after inception. The company was on course to breach Rs 1-crore benchmark in sales for 2014. With this acquisition, Unicom’s 200-plus customers in SMB, e-commerce, real estate, healthcare and media will be handled by Knowlarity, which will also get full ownership of Unicom's intellectual property.
Knowlarity has operations in more than 65 countries. The company caters to 6000 paid customers and will reach an annual turnover of Rs 75-crore by 2015.
