MSME Secretary, Dinesh Rai announced that an expert group, headed by Arun Maira, member (industry) of the Planning Commission, has been constituted for the development and promotion of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSMEs). He said, “In order to implement recommendations of the MSME Task Force, an expert group has been constituted to make suitable recommendations on the structure and mandate of an independent body at the national level for the promotion and development of MSMEs."
The Task Force had submitted its report to the Prime Minister in January this year.
The Group will be headed by Arun Maira, will submit its recommendations within a timeframe of three months.
