Bangalore's Nanobi Analytics, a startup focusing on analytical apps, has been crowned the 2013 winner of the Microsoft BizSpark India Startup Challenge at a grand finale event held in Bangalore. Nanobi Analytics took away home the grand prize of a Dell Latitude 10 tablet, XBOX 360 and an exclusive branding package.

In a press release issued by Microsoft India, Mahesh Ramakrishnan, CEO and Managing Director, Nanobi Analytics said, “We are delighted to win the Microsoft BizSpark Challenge! This gives us access to a mentor network that will help us leverage the business for our go-to market strategies, addressing the analytical needs of small and medium businesses in India for the next six months. We want to use the prize money to help us achieve our business goals and strategize, to help us go global.”

IntelloCut, regional winner from Delhi, came in at second place followed by Mumbai's Trutech Webs.

Marking the close of the month-long competition, it saw more than 700 entry submissions from 10 cities across and featuring 100 start-ups brimming with exciting business ideas. Winning start-ups in each city had won product prizes as well as cash prizes worth $ 4,000, $ 2,000 and $ 1,000 respectively for the winner and first and second runner-up, to boost their business plans, the release stated.

Rajinish Menon, Director - Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and Cloud Strategy at Microsoft India, said, “The fact that the Microsoft BizSpark India Startup Challenge this year has seen more start-ups compete, and that the variety and quality of start-ups has been fantastic, our belief that the start-up ecosystem in India is well and thriving is validated. This next generation of entrepreneurs who are creating smart solutions for the changing needs of today only needs recognition and initial support to thrive - and we are committed to providing that along with our BizSpark network partners.”
