Focusing on local consumer preferences will be central to boAt’s entry into new markets, said Gaurav Nayyar, Chief Executive Officer, boat, as per media reports.
Consumer electronics brand boAt has entered Sri Lanka and Bhutan as part of its international growth strategy, following a more than twofold increase in international revenue in the financial year 2025-26 (FY26).
The company is targeting markets across Southeast Asia, South Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region as it looks to expand its presence beyond India. The entry into Sri Lanka and Bhutan adds two markets to its international operations.
The company will offer products across personal audio, smartwatches and charging solutions in the two countries. Its product portfolio will be adapted to local consumer preferences and market demand.
International expansion is part of boAt’s 2.0 strategy, which also involves moving into consumer technology categories beyond personal audio. The company said its wearables business turned profitable in FY26, while charging solutions and other emerging categories contributed to profits.
Supporting its product development efforts is boAt Labs, the company’s in-house research and development centre, which has more than 100 engineers working on innovation across product categories.
boAt plans to strengthen its presence in existing international markets while evaluating further expansion opportunities across South Asia, Southeast Asia and the GCC region.
