Kiko Milano is stepping up its India expansion, with plans to double its retail footprint by the end of 2026 and make the country one of its five largest global markets by 2035 through its partnership with Reliance Beauty and Personal Care, Financial Express reports.
The Italian cosmetics brand currently has 20 points of sale in India, including 11 standalone stores and nine outlets on Reliance’s beauty platform Tira. Since entering the Indian market in 2019, the brand has accelerated its expansion following its partnership with Reliance in 2024 and now has a presence across eight cities.
Kiko Milano’s distribution strategy combines standalone stores, Tira and e-commerce. The company aims to make India one of its top 15 markets by 2027 and a top 10 market between 2028 and 2030.
Positioned between the mass-market and luxury segments, the brand derives around 80% of its sales from makeup. Approximately 75% of its products are manufactured in Italy, while local production through third-party manufacturers remains a potential option over the longer term.
The expansion reflects the growing importance of India for international cosmetics brands. Kiko Milano is leveraging Reliance’s retail network and digital infrastructure to widen its reach, strengthen its position in the premium makeup segment and tap into India’s beauty and personal care market, which is forecast to reach US$40 billion by 2030.
