International flame-grilled chicken brand Nando’s has made its entry into the Pune market, launching its first restaurant at Phoenix Marketcity in Viman Nagar. Known for its signature PERi-PERi chicken and vibrant dining experiences, the South African brand continues to expand its footprint in India’s growing casual dining segment.
The Pune outlet marks Nando’s presence in its seventh Indian city, joining Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and the state of Punjab. The restaurant is part of the brand’s broader strategy to establish itself in high-traffic urban locations and premium mall destinations.
“Pune is a city rich in culture, creativity, and a serious love for food,” said Sameer Bhasin, CEO, Nando’s India. “We’ve seen Punekars visit our restaurants across India and overseas, and we’re excited to finally bring the full Nando’s experience to them. Phoenix Marketcity is the perfect setting to introduce our bold, unforgettable flavours to the city.”
Nando’s offers a menu centered around its flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken, marinated for 24 hours and basted in sauces made with fresh, real ingredients—free from artificial flavors or colorants. Guests can customize their spice level, choosing from a range of PERi-PERi heat options, from Mild to Extra Hot.
Branded as “Casas”—the Portuguese word for home—Nando’s restaurants aim to deliver more than just food, with interiors featuring Afro-Portuguese art, warm colors, and rhythmic Afro-Luso music to create an immersive, culturally rich dining atmosphere.
The Pune launch is a strategic step in Nando’s India expansion plan, as the brand eyes growth in tier-1 markets with a rising demand for international cuisine and experiential dining.
With increasing competition in the casual dining space, Nando’s is betting on its unique flavour profiles, customisation options, and globally consistent restaurant design to capture the attention of India’s urban food lovers.
