The last meeting of the task force for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) appointed by the PMO will take place on Saturday, after which their report will be submitted to the PM, according to Dinesh Rai, Secretary, Ministry of MSME.
The task force was constituted by the PM in August and is an 11 member team of experts headed by his Principal Secretary T K A Nair. Some of the problems and their solutions pointed out by the committee are shortage of credit, need for a focused procurement policy, prompt payment of MSME dues, additional finances from SIDBI, simplification of labour laws to prevent inspector raj, and formulation of a one-time settlement policy to strengthen the MSME industries.
