The share of EOU/SEZ sector to national exports was 36% during 2009-10.
Jatin R. Mehta, Chairman, Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs (EPCES) expressed happiness and informed that in the first 3 quarters of current financial year (April-December, 2010) exports from SEZs have shown a growth of 47% over the corresponding period of last year. The total exports from SEZs during April-December 2010 is to the extent of Rs.2,23,132 crore against the exports from SEZs of Rs.1,51,785 crore against the same period in 2009-10.
Mehta further informed that total exports from SEZs during April-December 2010 is Rs.2,23,132 crore whereas total exports from SEZs during 2009-10 was Rs.2,20,711 crore. Chairman, EPCES informed that EOUs and SEZs are engines of economic growth and are complimentary to each other. The share of EOU/SEZ sector to national exports is 36% during 2009-10.
