Pharma exporters get relaxation in bar coding

In a pleasant revealation, it has been found that the earlier deadline of July 1st given to medicine exporters for affixing of barcodes is likely to be extended by 1 year more.

While barcoding on primary packs which involves application of expensive 2D technology, may get a year's extension, deadlines for affixing barcodes on bigger packs could be shorter.

Following the commerce ministry's decision, the health ministry had issued similar orders to make barcoding mandatory fro medicines made available in the city.
