IIT Madras has joined hands with BIRAC (Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council, Govt of India) and launched an incubation cell for start-ups in biotechnology sector. The centre will help start-ups to make innovative products and promote themselves in the market, says a PTI report.
The joint initiative intends to enable start-ups and small business to make their presence felt in the global market by developing globally competitive products and demonstrate them in the market.
The PTI report stated that Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT Madras inaugurated the facility at IIT-M's Research Park campus.
The fisrt phase of the incubation centre will include Purius Nanasystems Pvt Ltd, FIB-SOL Lfe Technologies Pvt Ltd, Vital Bioscientific Solutions and Yaathum Biotech.
