Xiaomi Launches First SUV, YU7, Ahead of July 2025 Sales
Xiaomi has launched its first SUV model, the YU7, featuring powerful performance, smart technology, and an extended driving range. The SUV will be available in India starting July 2025.

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has officially launched its first sport utility vehicle (SUV), the Xiaomi YU7. Built on a new platform, the YU7 is a mid-to-large SUV that offers a blend of intelligent technology, spacious interiors, and enhanced performance, distinct from the company’s SU7 sedan.

The Xiaomi YU7 measures 4999 mm in length, 1996 mm in width, and 1600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3000 mm. It features the largest clamshell aluminum hood in a mass-produced vehicle (3.11 square meters) and a 141-liter electric front trunk. The design updates include a new headlight system with integrated air channels and improved taillights for better visibility at night.

Inside, the YU7 showcases Xiaomi’s “Dual-Zone Surround Luxury” layout, featuring the Xiaomi HyperVision Panoramic Display—three Mini LED screens projecting data onto the windshield. The SUV also offers dual zero-gravity front seats with massage functions and power-adjustable rear seats. The cabin materials have received OEKO-TEX Class 1 certification for hypoallergenic safety.

The YU7 is powered by Xiaomi’s three core electric technologies: electric motor, power battery, and motor control unit. The top-spec model, equipped with the Xiaomi HyperEngine V6s Plus, delivers 690 PS and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds.

Available in three variants—Standard, Pro, and Max—the YU7 offers driving ranges between 835 km and 770 km, all built on an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform that supports rapid charging in just 15 minutes.

For safety, the YU7 features a steel-aluminum hybrid body structure reinforced with 2200 MPa ultra-high strength steel. It also comes equipped with advanced driver assistance systems including LiDAR, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and 11 cameras.

The SUV runs on an updated Electrical/Electronic Architecture incorporating Snapdragon and NVIDIA chips, enabling fast OTA updates and supporting Wi-Fi 7, dual 5G, and UWB connectivity.

Xiaomi YU7’s official sales will begin in July 2025. Additionally, a 1:18 scale alloy model will be available in select finishes. This SUV is set to strengthen Xiaomi’s foothold in both the Indian and global electric vehicle markets.
