Cygnett Hotels & Resorts is sharpening its growth strategy for 2027–2028, with plans to accelerate hotel development, strengthen profitability and expand its footprint across India and South Asia. The roadmap was outlined as the group marked 12 years of operations at its ninth Annual General Managers’ Conclave, THRIVE 2026, held on October 29–30 at Cygnett Collection, Gurugram.
The hospitality group currently has 55 hotels and resorts in its development pipeline, representing approximately 3,750 keys. It aims to expand its portfolio to more than 10,000 keys by 2031, driven by new openings, brand diversification and entry into emerging business, leisure and pilgrimage destinations.
An important part of this expansion plan is Cygnett’s alliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. The collaboration is expected to enhance the group's international reach, access to global distribution networks and brand portfolio, supporting its growth across India and South Asia.
The alliance brings together Cygnett’s understanding of regional hospitality markets and Wyndham’s international network and established hotel brands.
Beyond adding properties, the group is placing greater emphasis on improving hotel-level financial performance. Key priorities for the 2027–2028 period include revenue per available room (RevPAR), gross operating profit (GOP), market share, cost efficiency and returns for hotel owners.
Technology will also play a larger role in the group's operating strategy. Cygnett plans to strengthen revenue management and operational decision-making through artificial intelligence, automation, digitalisation and data analytics.
Commenting on the company’s growth journey and future direction, Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said, “When we started Cygnett twelve years ago, our vision was to build an Indian hospitality company capable of growing across emerging markets while delivering consistent service and strong value to hotel owners. Over the years, we have expanded our presence, diversified our brands and established a foundation for long-term growth. Our next chapter is about translating that scale into stronger performance, profitability and global competitiveness. With 55 hotels and resorts in our development pipeline and our strategic alliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, we are moving confidently towards our ambition of exceeding 10,000 keys by 2031.”
The two-day conclave, themed “From Evolution to Excellence – Building Cygnett 2027–2028”, brought together the group's general managers and corporate leadership to deliberate on accountability, leadership development and aligning hotel operations with its expansion objectives.
Maintaining service consistency across a growing portfolio will remain another priority. Cygnett plans to strengthen its service philosophy through the Cygnetture Experience, Namaskar Culture and Emotional Unlimited Hospitality, focusing on delivering consistent and personalised guest experiences across its properties.
The group also sees growth potential in emerging hospitality markets, driven by increasing travel demand, infrastructure development, spiritual tourism, destination weddings and corporate travel.
Going forward, Cygnett aims to balance portfolio expansion with improved hotel performance, technology-led efficiency and service delivery. Its long-term strategy is to build an Indian hospitality platform with international reach, while ensuring sustainable returns for hotel owners and creating value for stakeholders.
