The course is designed for experienced engineers who want enterprise-ready AI skills, hands-on training and an IIIT-Bangalore credential.
The programme comes as companies move their AI projects from pilots into full production. That shift is increasing demand for engineers who combine technical depth with business understanding and the ability to deliver for clients. The course aims to close the gap between building AI systems and deploying them at enterprise scale.
The curriculum follows the full journey that a forward deployed engineer is responsible for: client discovery, solution architecture, enterprise deployment and client delivery. It is spread across five courses and an end-to-end capstone. Topics include production engineering, large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, agentic AI and AI security.
The programme runs as a six-month live online cohort, with 120 hours of live sessions, guided labs and practical drills. For the capstone, participants build and deploy an AI solution on a live client project. The course also includes a one-day immersion at the IIIT-Bangalore campus.
Participants who complete the programme will receive a Postgraduate Programme Certificate from IIIT-Bangalore.
The course is open to software and AI/ML engineers, as well as technical professionals in pre-sales and solutions roles. Applicants need to be proficient in Python and have experience building a data pipeline or a REST API.
Prof. V Sridhar, Head, Continuing Professional Education, IIIT-Bangalore, and Anuj Vishwakarma, CEO, Higher Education, upGrad, said engineers who combine technical depth with business understanding are increasingly in demand.
