Food delivery platform Swiggy has launched a new health-focused category, EatRight, across more than 50 cities, aiming to cater to the growing base of health-conscious consumers in India.
The EatRight category brings together over 1.8 million dishes from more than two lakh restaurant partners, offering options such as high-protein meals, low-calorie items, and foods with no added sugar under a single, curated section on the app.
Sharing insights from its order data, Swiggy said Tier-2 cities are emerging as key growth drivers for healthy food consumption, recording nearly double the year-on-year growth compared to metropolitan markets. Cities such as Chandigarh, Guwahati, Ludhiana and Bhubaneswar are among the fastest-growing hubs for health-focused food orders.
Deepak Maloo, Vice President – Food Strategy, Customer Experience & New Initiatives at Swiggy, said the new category is designed to make healthier eating a natural part of everyday food ordering. “EatRight integrates health-forward choices into regular ordering behaviour by simplifying discovery and reducing decision fatigue through clear categorisation,” he said.
Swiggy also noted that several partner brands are introducing new menu offerings aligned with the rising consumer preference for healthier eating, further expanding the range of choices available on the platform.
