Radisson Hotel Group strengthens its presence in East India with the signing of a strategic dual hotel deal comprising Radisson Hotel Bhubaneswar and Radisson Resort Kataka in Odisha, adding 220 rooms to its growing portfolio. The signing marks the Group’s entry into Kataka with the city’s first branded resort, while further strengthening its presence in Bhubaneswar.
Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, has emerged as a key commercial and institutional hub, supported by a growing ecosystem spanning government, education, healthcare, industry and religious tourism. Its evolving business landscape, cultural heritage and strong connectivity continue to drive demand from both business and leisure travellers, with Radisson Hotel Bhubaneswar strategically located close to NH-16, Bhubaneswar Railway Station and Biju Patnaik International Airport, offering convenient access to key commercial, institutional, healthcare and cultural destinations across the city.
Kataka, Odisha’s second-largest city, is a prominent commercial and cultural centre with a diversified economy, trade, textiles, handicrafts and its renowned silver filigree industry. The city also attracts cultural and religious travellers through destinations such as Barabati Fort and Kataka Chandi Temple, as well as major events including Bali Yatra and Durga Puja. Located along the Sambalpur–Kataka Road and within reach of Bhubaneswar, Radisson Resort Kataka will be well positioned to cater to leisure, social, MICE and destination-led demand, while marking Radisson Hotel Group’s entry into the city.
“Odisha is an important growth market for Radisson Hotel Group, with Bhubaneswar and Kataka offering strong and complementary opportunities across business, leisure, MICE and social travel. The addition of these two properties strengthens our presence in one of India’s fastest-evolving states while expanding our offering across both established and emerging destinations. With Radisson Hotel Bhubaneswar and Radisson Resort Kataka, we are well placed to serve the diverse needs of travellers while supporting the growth of Odisha’s hospitality ecosystem. This dual signing reinforces our commitment to bringing our brands to markets where we see sustained demand and long-term potential,” said Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director & COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.
“Bhubaneswar and Kataka present a compelling opportunity to build a complementary portfolio across two distinct demand markets. Bhubaneswar’s established commercial ecosystem and Kataka’s growing potential as a leisure, cultural and social destination make the two locations strategically relevant to our expansion plans in Odisha. With 6 hotels in Puri, Bhubaneswar, Kataka & Gopalpur, we shall continue to focus on Odisha and larger Eastern India as a strategic territory for our growth plans.” Said Davashish Srivastava, Vice President – Development, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.
“We are pleased to partner with Radisson Hotel Group on this dual development in Odisha, bringing together two distinctive hospitality offerings in Bhubaneswar and Kataka.
