Arvind Limited, a global textile and apparel major with nearly a century of innovation and manufacturing expertise, has expanded its international footprint with the launch of Arvind Atelier (FZC), its wholly owned subsidiary in the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone), UAE, along with the inauguration of a dedicated design hub in London.
The expansion is aimed at enhancing the company’s ability to service global brands through a regionally integrated operating model that brings together customer-focused design capabilities, agile sourcing frameworks, and vertically integrated manufacturing strengths across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and the Americas.
“This expansion marks an important milestone in Arvind’s global growth journey.” said Punit Lalbhai, Vice Chairman, Arvind Limited. “By bringing design, sourcing and execution closer to key international markets, we are enhancing our ability to deliver speed, flexibility, quality and responsible manufacturing solutions to global brands.” he added.
Arvind Limited has appointed Rakesh Chadha as the Managing Director of Arvind Atelier, bringing over three decades of experience in global apparel sourcing, supply chain management, and international business development.
In his new role, he will oversee customer engagement, regional expansion initiatives, sourcing operations, and strategic partnerships across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, while also focusing on building integrated teams spanning design, product development, sourcing, and operations.
“London will serve as a strategic hub connecting Arvind’s innovation capabilities with Europe’s dynamic fashion ecosystem. The model is designed to enable closer collaboration with customers and support faster, market-responsive product development.” said Rakesh.
Working in tandem, the London Design Hub and the Sharjah-based Arvind Atelier will create a complementary global operating framework for Arvind Limited. While the London hub will concentrate on customer engagement, trend forecasting, and product development, the UAE platform will manage sourcing coordination, manufacturing integration, logistics, and market access across key international regions.
Arvind Atelier is designed as an integrated sourcing platform spanning denim, casualwear, shirts, knits, sweaters, essentials, and activewear, enabling global brands to streamline multiple product categories through a single strategic partner.
The expansion builds on the company’s established manufacturing scale and global supply capabilities. In FY25, Arvind’s garmenting division produced around 37 million pieces, while woven fabric output stood at approximately 128 million metres. The company also ranks among the world’s leading denim manufacturers, with an annual denim fabric capacity exceeding 110 million metres.
The international push comes amid expanding opportunities across Europe and the MENA region. As per CBI, Europe imported nearly €180.5 billion worth of apparel in 2024, while Deep Market Insights estimates the Middle East and Africa fashion apparel market at around USD 172 billion in 2025, with sustained growth expected in the coming years.
The establishment of the London hub also aligns with the anticipated rollout of the UK–India Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, which is expected to further enhance bilateral trade prospects for India’s textile and apparel industry.
