Apollo Tyres has secured the lead sponsorship rights for the Indian cricket teams in a landmark deal worth ₹579 crore, marking a major boost in the commercial value of the sport. The agreement, finalized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will see Apollo’s logo featured on the jerseys of India’s men’s and women’s teams across senior and junior levels for the next two and a half years.
The new sponsorship will officially come into effect starting September 30, coinciding with the commencement of the Women’s ODI World Cup.
The bidding process, conducted in the presence of all interested parties, attracted three valid contenders. Apollo Tyres emerged as the highest bidder, outpacing Canva (₹544 crore) and JK Cement (₹477 crore). The BCCI had set a base price of ₹3.5 crore per match for bilateral series and ₹1.5 crore for ICC events. Apollo’s winning bid stands at ₹4.5 crore per bilateral match and ₹1.72 crore for each ICC match.
In an official statement, the BCCI said, “The new partnership, secured after a rigorous bidding process, represents a substantial increase in sponsorship value, signifying the immense and growing commercial appeal of Indian cricket.”
This development follows the early exit of fantasy gaming company Dream11, which previously held the sponsorship rights. Dream11 was forced to withdraw after the enactment of the Online Gaming Bill, which bans real money-based fantasy gaming platforms from advertising or sponsoring sporting events.
Apollo Tyres now joins an elite list of companies that have leveraged the popularity of Indian cricket to enhance their brand visibility. The move is expected to further strengthen Apollo’s presence in the Indian market while giving the BCCI a significant commercial lift ahead of a packed international calendar.
