SMEs to get priority in India-EU deal

Commerce Minister Anand Sharma in a press conference in New Delhi on Friday said that the India-EU deal will focus on Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Talking about the importance of SMEs he added that SMEs are the major employment generator with about 40 percent of India’s exports being conducted by them. He said that they are also incubators of technologies.

Catherine Ashton, the European trade commissioner said that India-EU talks should focus on trade, investment and services.
