The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) today organized its fourth regional edition of the NASSCOM Product Conclave (North) at The Leela, Gurgaon. The daylong seminar served as an exciting platform for Delhi/NCR start-ups and emerging companies to access knowledge and support available in the ecosystem. The conference was attended by thought leaders from the product industry, including VCs, practicing entrepreneurs, and consultants, who shared their views on the evolving product and start-up landscape.
The Gurgaon edition of the conclave witnessed focused sessions, highlighting the fundamental principles that are critical for a product business to succeed, focusing on the opportunities that will help them expand their market and build successful businesses. The conclave showcased interesting start-ups and emerging companies, who shared insights on how the product landscape exceeds the limit of software and finds synergy in hardware and other verticals.
Sharing his views of the growing product ecosystem in the region, R. Chandrashekhar, President, NASSCOM expressed “It is overwhelming to see the enthusiasm among IT companies to develop innovative software products. Our interaction with Delhi/NCR based organizations; especially young business was very constructive. Through this initiative, NASSCOM aimed to provide a strategic direction to various players in the product ecosystem. We are confident that this conclave will enable entrepreneurs based in the city to develop their ideas into successful businesses to further propel the software product ecosystem.”
Ravi Gururaj, Chairman, NASSCOM Product Council said, “The product landscape has grown exponentially in India over the years, and is now considered as one of the fastest growing domains of the industry. Recently, we have started seeing a tremendous increase in the number of products start-ups with offerings ranging from e-commerce to cloud platforms.”
This conclave is part of a series of Product Conclaves scheduled throughout 2014. Prior to this NASSCOM had organized similar seminars in Pune, Kolkata and Hyderabad. Aimed at encouraging product start-ups to tread the path of innovation, these platforms also bring together various players present in the ecosystem, like VCs, accelerators, and other product companies. This enables a regional player to ‘Connect, Collaborate and Co-create’ – Connect and collaborate with relevant players to Co-create integrated IT solutions that are combination of service and products.
