Samriddhi is Mahindra’s flagship initiative to deliver agronomy advice, disseminate best agricultural practices.
Mahindra Samriddhi, the agri business division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, hopes to positively impact the lives of more than 1,00,000 farmers by 2020 through various initiatives that it undertakes. The company intends to impact the lives of two million farmers through more than 1,000 Samriddhi touch points across the country.
Samriddhi is Mahindra’s flagship initiative to deliver agronomy advice, disseminate best agricultural practices, and recognise achievement in Indian agriculture. It is a “one-stop-solution” model which acts as an umbrella interface between the company and the farmer and brings together a gamut of agriculture related products, services and a knowledge repository under one roof. Samriddhi serves the product, agronomy advice and a service related needs of around 1 lakh farmers annually, provides holistic solutions to help increase farm productivity and are the vehicle to deliver “Farm Tech Prosperity”.
“We will increase the use of information and communication technology – the internet and mobile technology to increase our reach. Parallely, we will keep establishing win-win partnerships with all our stakeholders – the government, academic institutions, NGOs, Farmer co-operatives, and rural entrepreneurs,” Ashok Sharma, Chief Executive (Agri & Allied Businesses), Mahindra & Mahindra, told EntrepreneurIndia.com.
As a part of this strategy, Mahindra Samriddhi has signed a tripartite agreement between the company, Kalpataru Farmer Producer Company (FPCs) and Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Aurangabad.
“We plan to replicate the model across the country which will ensure not just financial sustainability of the FPCs but also promises the farmer community a door step provision of Samriddhi products and services,” Sharma added further.
The Agri business division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd launched its first FPC (farmer producer company) owned agri solution Samriddhi center in Aurangabad. The center is developed with an aim to be an enabler for farmers in their progress - from improvement in productivity to improvement in financial returns. Mahindra Samriddhi’s partnership with the Kalpataru Farmer Producer Company is an important step towards making the farmer self reliant and think of himself as an owner than an employee.
