US trade representative Ron Kirk, on his visit to India said that the two nations are moving towards a formal trade pact. By opening up business environment, the US is looking towards greater access in financial services.
Among the important sectors which were discussed as potential areas of co-operation were infrastructure, healthcare, education and information and communication technology. Another specific issue discussed was working towards sensitizing small and medium businesses in trade.
Kirk also insisted that the two countries draft a formal trade pact to increase collaboration.
