Giving wings to early education

Established in 2014, Sperowz has a unique element in its favour – it implements the oldest method of teaching to impart education to children. This means using a slate and chalk to make the children learn the basics. The philosophy is that such a method develops a child’s gripping power and cognitive skills. “Today, preschools are using electronic gadgets for early childhood education which is actually harmful,” says Nihar Satapathy, Director, Sperowz Preschool. Currently there are approximately 1,55,000 preschools in India, including the local and franchise-based preschools. The number is estimated to go up to 3 billion by 2021. Given such a scenario, to fare well in this competitive arena and retain the momentum of growth, it is essential to do things differently and keep innovating.

FRANCHISE OVERVIEW

Sperowz started franchising in 2016. It does not charge any royalty fees on monthly revenue generated by the franchisee, which makes it easy for the franchisee to operate the centre. “Most of the franchisees in this sector do not renew their contract and find it easy to develop their own brand rather paying an exorbitant percentageof royalty which varies from 15-25%. Moreover, the centres have to pay the royalty fee even before they can generate any profit. But in our case, a franchisee is benefited within the span of a year and the growth ratio is approximately 25-30%,” Satapathy informs.
