Homegrown beauty brand Typsy Beauty has secured ₹20 crore in a funding round led by US based venture capital firm Saama Capital, marking a significant milestone in its growth journey. The fresh capital will be used to strengthen the brand's retail presence, expand into new product categories, and scale its fragrance business.

The round also witnessed participation from Sanjay Kapoor, Founder of Genesis Luxury and an early investor in the brand, along with SRF Family Office. Existing investors include the family offices of Havells and Eicher Motors, as well as Tanaaz Bhatia of Borderline Media.

Founded in 2022 by Kairavi Bharat Ram, Typsy Beauty was created to bridge the gap between the quality of Indian and international makeup brands. Inspired by her personal journey and experience as a beauty content creator, Bharat Ram identified a demand among Indian consumers for globally inspired, high quality beauty products at accessible price points.

Since its inception, the brand has focused on introducing globally trending beauty formats to the Indian market in the mass premium segment, priced between ₹600 and ₹900. Its formulations are developed in collaboration with international laboratories that also manufacture products for global beauty brands such as Rare Beauty, Tarte, and Rhode.

Typsy Beauty has introduced several category defining products, including Foundcealer, positioned as India's first foundation concealer hybrid, Twist & Pout, a lipstick and lip liner combination, and Pout Cloud, a lip colour designed to deliver rich pigment with the comfort of a balm.

The company currently offers a portfolio of 27 SKUs spanning lip, eye, face, and fragrance categories.

The newly raised capital will support three key growth priorities: expanding distribution through quick commerce platforms and offline retail, entering the skincare segment with hybrid skincare makeup products, and scaling Spritz by Typsy, the brand's fragrance label launched earlier this year. The company also plans to introduce more than ten new products in the coming months.

Kairavi Bharat Ram, Founder of Typsy Beauty, said: “Typsy started because I couldn’t find an Indian brand that made me feel the way my favourite international products did. We set out to change that – not by cutting corners on formulation, but by partnering with the best labs in the world and bringing those products to India at prices that don’t shut people out. This funding lets us do that across more categories and for many more consumers.”

Shashank Tibrewal, Co-Founder of Typsy Beauty, said: “We’ve built a business with strong fundamentals – healthy contribution margins and a repeatable growth playbook across eight marketplaces. This investment gives us the resources to accelerate into new categories and wider distribution while maintaining the discipline that got us here.”

Amrita Barthakur, Partner at Saama Capital said: “Typsy Beauty has demonstrated what happens when strong product instinct meets operational discipline. The team has identified genuine whitespace in India’s beauty market and filled it with products that compete with international brands on quality while remaining accessible. We’re excited to back Kairavi, Shashank, and the team as they scale this vision.”
