Radisson Hotel Group has opened a new property near one of India’s top tourist attractions, the Statue of Unity, as part of its efforts to expand in key leisure markets across the country.
The newly launched D Square Statue of Unity Kevadia, operating under the Radisson Individuals brand, is located in Ekta Nagar in Gujarat's Narmada district. The hotel features 91 rooms and offers views of the Statue of Unity, the surrounding valley, and the upcoming Tribal Museum. It is close to the Ekta Nagar Railway Station and other popular sites, including the Ekta Mall, Jungle Safari, and Narmada riverfront.
The opening supports both Radisson’s growth strategy in emerging destinations and government efforts to promote Kevadia as a major tourism hub. Gujarat’s state-led development initiatives—including infrastructure upgrades, new visitor attractions, and enhanced public amenities—have significantly increased the region’s visitor numbers. More than 5.1 million tourists visited Ekta Nagar in 2023, up from 2.7 million in 2019.
“This opening strengthens our presence in Gujarat, one of India’s fastest-growing tourism corridors,” said Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group. “We are proud to support the state’s vision of making Ekta Nagar a model smart tourism destination.”
The hotel blends modern facilities with local design. Amenities include the Sankalp All Day Dining Restaurant, which offers vegetarian cuisine, and event spaces such as the Silver Pavilion for weddings and conferences, and the Sapphire for smaller gatherings.
Local attractions near the hotel have expanded in recent years. New additions include a bonsai garden, a tribal museum, a royal heritage village, Kamalam Park (a dragon-fruit educational farm), shaded walkways, and the Ekta Nagar Visitor Centre, which is under construction. A live-streamed Narmada Aarti and other cultural activities are also part of the visitor experience.
The hotel is a joint effort between Radisson Hotel Group and local partners. “This project is rooted in Gujarat’s culture and commitment to progress,” said Shivalik Goenka, Co-Owner of the property. Fakruddin Khan, the hotel’s General Manager, added, “We aim to provide a welcoming experience that highlights the best of the region.”
Radisson Hotel Group now has 200 hotels in operation or development in India. Over half of its portfolio is in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, with a growing focus on destinations with high tourism potential.
