Amazon India announced plans to invest more than ₹2,000 crore in 2025 to bolster its operations network across the country. The investment will be directed toward expanding infrastructure, upgrading facilities, and enhancing delivery capabilities in a rapidly growing e-commerce landscape.
In an official statement, Amazon said the funds will support the launch of new sites and upgrades to its fulfilment centres, sortation hubs, and delivery stations. These improvements aim to increase processing capacity, accelerate delivery times, and boost overall efficiency.
"This investment reaffirms our long-term commitment to India," said Abhinav Singh, Vice President of Operations, Amazon India and Australia. "We are focused on strengthening our infrastructure, improving delivery speed, and creating a more inclusive and safe work environment for our employees and partners."
India’s e-commerce sector is witnessing robust growth, driven by rising smartphone usage, expanding internet access, and increased spending from a digital-first consumer base. Industry estimates suggest the market could reach USD 325 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 21%.
Amazon highlighted that the new investments will build upon its existing operations, which already enable deliveries to nearly every serviceable pin code in the country. It also emphasized its continued commitment to sustainability, with buildings designed for energy efficiency and inclusivity, including accessibility features for people with disabilities.
In addition to infrastructure, Amazon is enhancing technologies to improve on-road safety, streamline delivery processes, and promote employee well-being. Initiatives include the use of advanced driver safety tools, smarter delivery route planning, and app enhancements for better navigation and delivery accuracy.
Employee-centric programs such as ‘Ashray’, which offers rest stations for delivery personnel, and ‘Samridhi’, focused on financial literacy and support, are also being scaled. A nationwide health drive offering free check-ups to over 80,000 delivery associates is underway, with completion targeted by the end of 2025.
“These efforts go beyond business. They reflect our dedication to the people who power our operations and the customers we serve across India,” Singh added.
