Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has announced the signing of a new property in Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, marking the company’s debut in the northeastern state. The upcoming Lemon Tree Hotel, Itanagar, will be operated by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the group.
Strategically located near major transport hubs—approximately 25 km from Donyi Polo Airport and 12 km from Naharlagun Railway Station—the hotel promises convenient accessibility. It will offer 70 well-appointed rooms and a host of amenities including a multi-cuisine restaurant, bar, banquet hall, meeting room, swimming pool, gym, spa, and other public spaces designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers.
Speaking on the development, Mr. Vilas Pawar, CEO – Managed & Franchise Business, Lemon Tree Hotels, said, “We are thrilled to enter Arunachal Pradesh with this new signing. It reflects our commitment to expanding our footprint in the eastern part of the country and further diversifies our growing portfolio.”
Itanagar, known for its rich cultural heritage, draws tourists to landmarks like the 14th-century Itafort, the Jawaharlal Nehru Museum showcasing tribal heritage, and the scenic Ganga Lake (Gekar Sinyi), making it an emerging destination for both domestic and international visitors.
Lemon Tree Hotels Limited, one of India’s leading hotel chains, operates across multiple market segments through seven distinctive brands. With a current portfolio of over 210 properties, the company continues to expand rapidly across metros, Tier II-IV cities, and international destinations.
This new addition reinforces Lemon Tree’s strategy of tapping into underrepresented markets with strong tourism and business potential, strengthening its position as a key player in India’s hospitality sector.
