Global sportswear giant Nike has partnered with Indian fashion label NorBlack NorWhite for a first-of-its-kind collaboration, blending traditional Indian craftsmanship with modern athletic design. The collection, inspired by bandhani—a centuries-old Indian tie-dye technique—marks Nike’s debut partnership with an Indian brand.
This limited-edition Nike x NorBlack NorWhite collection aims to spotlight India’s rich textile heritage while promoting cultural representation and reclaiming space for South Asian voices in global fashion. Designed for women, the collection features sportswear including hoodies, cropped tees, tanks, bras, tights, shorts, and a crossbody bag—all infused with bold, bandhani-inspired patterns. Footwear offerings include four styles: Air Max Craze, Motiva, Pegasus 41, and Calm Slide.
“Our journey began with a deep admiration for Indian craft and the people who bring it to life,” said Mriga Kapadiya, cofounder of NorBlack NorWhite. “Each piece is a tribute to the rigour, dedication, and ancestral knowledge rooted in Indian culture.”
Fellow cofounder Amrit Kumar emphasized the emotional and cultural tone of the collection. “We want women to feel strong and grounded in their identity. The colours evoke calm, while the patterns are meant to inspire resilience.”
To amplify its message, the campaign features some of India’s most celebrated female athletes, including cricketers Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues, wrestler Anshu Malik, and sprinter Priya Mohan.
With this groundbreaking collaboration, Nike not only taps into India's deep design traditions but also sets a powerful precedent for inclusive storytelling and global cultural exchange in sportswear.
