Ankit Jain, former Managing Director of Dyson India, has launched Foundry, a consumer technology company focused on developing premium home appliances using proprietary, patent-pending technology. The company’s initial product range will focus on kitchen appliances, with plans to expand into other categories over time.
Foundry has raised Rs 12 crore in pre-seed equity funding led by BEENEXT and Kettleborough VC. The round also saw participation from Rishubh Satiya of Plix, Anindita Sampath of Yogabar and Anita Pramoda of Owned Outcomes.
The company aims to rethink conventional appliance design and engineering, moving beyond standalone machines built for individual functions. It plans to combine proprietary technology with industrial design, engineering and material selection to develop premium appliances suited to changing consumer needs.
The fresh capital will be used to develop Foundry’s proprietary technology and engineer its first product range, which is scheduled for launch in the second half of 2027.
Jain brings more than two decades of experience in global consumer businesses. During his nine-year tenure at Dyson, he held leadership roles across India, Hong Kong, the Middle East and Africa, including serving as Managing Director of Dyson India, where he helped build and scale the brand’s premium business. Earlier, he held leadership positions at Star TV, Walmart and Nestlé.
Speaking about the launch, Ankit Jain, Founder and CEO of Foundry, said, “I’ve spent years working at the intersection of technology and consumer products. One thing I’ve come to believe is that the next leap in appliances won’t come simply from making individual machines better. It will come from rethinking how they are engineered, how they work together and how intelligence can make them more useful over time. That’s the approach we’re taking at Foundry. We’re investing in the technology from the ground up, with the ambition of creating a fundamentally different experience with everyday appliances.”
