PVR INOX has launched what it claims to be India’s first ‘dine-in cinema’ at the newly opened M5 ECity Mall in Bengaluru, offering an innovative blend of movies and gourmet dining under one roof.
In a bold reimagining of the traditional movie-going experience, the new multiplex allows guests to enjoy chef-curated meals directly from the comfort of their seats, without the need to leave the auditorium—or even purchase a movie ticket.
“This format transforms the cinema into a lifestyle destination,” PVR INOX said in a statement, describing the concept as where “blockbuster films meet gourmet dining.” The initiative is aimed at elevating cinema from a simple film screening to a full-fledged evening of entertainment, comfort, and culinary indulgence.
The dine-in theatre introduces a variety of themed in-house food and beverage outlets, including Crosta, Cine Café, Dine-In, Steamestry, Wokstar, In-Between, Frytopia, Dogfather, and Local Street. The offerings range from pizzas, hotdogs, and burgers to steamed delicacies, stir-fried meals, and regional Indian street food.
Ajay Bijli, Managing Director of PVR INOX, said the new format redefines the cinematic experience: “With the launch of our new multiplex at M5 ECity Mall, we are inviting audiences to experience cinema in an entirely new way—from India’s first dine-in auditorium restaurant to immersive technology and thoughtfully curated food.”
The multiplex is also equipped with cutting-edge visual and audio technology. Each auditorium features Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby 7.1 surround sound, and 4K Laser projection. Its premium Big Pix auditorium boasts a massive RealD 3D-enabled 4K Laser screen, offering what the company claims is unmatched visual clarity and scale.
With this move, PVR INOX is positioning itself not just as a movie theatre chain but as a lifestyle and entertainment brand catering to modern, experience-driven audiences.
