IHG Hotels & Resorts has introduced its premium voco brand in Punjab with the opening of a 139-room hotel in Amritsar, marking the brand’s debut in the state.

Positioned as a contemporary yet character-led offering, voco Amritsar is designed to cater to leisure, spiritual, and business travellers seeking a comfortable and relaxed stay experience in the city.

Located just minutes from the Golden Temple and in close proximity to Jallianwala Bagh and the Wagah Border, the hotel offers convenient access to key cultural and historical landmarks. Its connectivity to Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport further enhances accessibility for both domestic and international travellers.

Manish Kumar Yadav, General Manager, voco Amritsar, said: “voco Amritsar has been envisioned as a stay experience that balances comfort with a strong sense of place — inviting guests to truly unwind while staying connected to the city’s spiritual and cultural pulse. This opening is also a proud moment for our entire team, whose passion, hard work and attention to detail have brought the voco spirit to life in Amritsar, ensuring guests feel genuinely welcomed from the moment they arrive.”

The hotel’s interiors adopt a contemporary design language infused with local influences, featuring soft colour palettes, layered lighting, and textured finishes across both public areas and guestrooms. Spaces are thoughtfully planned with functional layouts and well-defined work zones.

The property offers a mix of Standard Rooms, Premium Rooms, Suites, and Duplex Rooms. Across its 139 keys, it incorporates bedding made from recycled materials, including duvets and pillows, as part of its sustainability initiatives.

Dining options include all-day and regional cuisine at Saffron, a café-style experience at The Gallery, and rooftop offerings at Plum Lounge.

On the wellness front, guests can access Tattva Spa for therapies, along with a fitness studio and an outdoor swimming pool, catering to both relaxation and recreation needs.

For events and meetings, the hotel features seven indoor venues and two outdoor spaces. The 8,075 sq. ft. Blossom Ballroom serves as the centerpiece, complemented by venues such as Imperial Hall, Legacy Hall, Colonial Court Room, Magnolia Hall, Maple Chamber, and Pearl Chamber, along with outdoor settings including Harmony Lawn and The Pavilion.
