Accor Expands Luxury Footprint with 220 Room Fairmont Resort in Rishikesh
Spread across approximately 16 acres of pristine landscape, Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas will feature 220 guestrooms, four dining venues and 3,000 square metres of event space.

The luxury hospitality scene in India is set to gain another landmark property with Accor signing Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas. Scheduled to open in 2031 in the serene Shivpuri Range of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, the resort will strengthen Accor’s growing luxury portfolio while bringing Fairmont’s signature service, destination-led experiences and distinctive approach to one of India’s prominent wellness and spiritual destinations.

Spread across approximately 16 acres of pristine landscape, Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas will feature 220 guestrooms, four dining venues and 3,000 square metres of event space. The property will also include a spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, kids’ club and a range of curated experiences designed around the destination.

Rishikesh has long been recognised as a global hub for spirituality and wellness, attracting visitors seeking yoga, meditation and holistic experiences. Its connectivity with Delhi NCR and other key markets has also strengthened its appeal for luxury leisure travel, staycations, adventure tourism, weddings and MICE events.

Located against the backdrop of the Himalayan foothills and the biodiverse landscape surrounding the River Ganges, the resort will draw inspiration from the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Its design and experiences are intended to reflect the character of the destination while creating a setting for relaxation, celebrations and immersive stays.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, part of Accor, has more than a century of hospitality heritage and operates properties across destinations such as New York City, London, Shanghai and Marrakech. In India, the brand currently has hotels in Jaipur, Mumbai and Udaipur, with upcoming properties planned in Shimla Fagu, Goa and Agra.

The signing comes amid rising demand for luxury hospitality in the Shivpuri and Rishikesh region. With growing interest in nature-led and experience-driven tourism, the resort is expected to cater to travellers seeking premium stays while addressing the limited presence of branded luxury resorts in the region.

Commenting on the signing, Ranju Alex, CEO, Accor, South Asia said, “Another significant turning point in the strategic growth of the Fairmont brand in India is the signing of Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas. One of the most alluring luxury travel locations in the nation is Rishikesh, where spirituality, wellness, and immersive travel come together. This initiative demonstrates our dedication to providing outstanding hospitality to locations that provide genuine and significant experiences while bolstering our premium portfolio throughout the area.”

For Javi Group, the project represents a key step in diversifying its business portfolio and establishing a dedicated vertical focused on the hospitality sector.

Vibhor Jain, Director, Javi Home Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are thrilled to partner with Accor to introduce the Fairmont brand to Rishikesh. The location has enormous long-term potential, and we think Fairmont’s tradition of providing opulent hospitality is a wonderful fit with the area’s natural beauty, spiritual past, and increasing attractiveness to discerning tourists. Together, we hope to establish a historic location that would raise the bar for opulent hospitality in Uttarakhand.”
