Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of its newest property, the Tree of Life AeroVillage resort in Panheli, Raigad. This marks the company’s 54th hotel in Maharashtra and represents a conversion project aimed at blending luxury with nature.
Set amidst the scenic Sahyadri hills, the resort features a private airstrip, allowing guests to reach the property via a 30-minute charter flight from Mumbai or Pune. The 28-room property also offers an all-day dining restaurant, a riverside dining experience along a flowing perennial stream, and a range of curated leisure activities.
“Our aim is to expand IHCL’s presence in accessible, drivable destinations,” said Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL. “Panheli is emerging as a preferred getaway for travellers from Mumbai and Pune, and its natural beauty makes it the perfect location for a luxury leisure escape. We are thrilled to partner with Mr. Prabhat Jha for this project.”
The resort offers over 5,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space suitable for intimate events, alongside recreational facilities including nature trails, a 9-hole golf course, a 20-seater private theatre, and a multi-sport stadium accommodating cricket, football, and pickleball.
Prabhat Jha, the project partner, highlighted the collaboration’s potential to boost Panheli’s appeal to high-end travellers: “We are excited to bring the Tree of Life experience to AeroVillage Panheli, enhancing the destination’s tourism profile.”
With this launch, IHCL now operates 54 hotels in Maharashtra, with another 27 properties currently under development, further strengthening its footprint in the state’s hospitality sector.
