Global fashion brand Benetton Group has appointed Nikhil Upadhye as the new Managing Director for its India operations, effective October 16, 2025. He steps into the role following the departure of Ramprasad Sridharan, who is moving on to pursue other professional opportunities.
Upadhye, who rejoined Benetton India after serving as its Commercial Director until February 2025, brings over 20 years of experience in the fashion, footwear, and telecom sectors. His career includes leadership roles at Reebok, Tata Wolverine, Idea Cellular, Welspun UK, and Jio. He first joined Benetton in 2017 during his initial stint with the company.
A Sloan Fellow from London Business School and an alumnus of IMT Ghaziabad, Upadhye is expected to lead the brand’s next phase of expansion in the country.
In a company statement, Benetton praised Sridharan’s contributions, particularly his role in navigating the brand through the post-pandemic retail landscape. His tenure saw the strengthening of Benetton’s multi-channel strategy, improved product portfolios, and sharper marketing initiatives.
India has been a significant market for Benetton since its entry in 1992. With Upadhye at the helm, the company expressed confidence in accelerating its growth and deepening its presence in the country’s dynamic retail sector.
