India was recently recognised as the sixth strategic region which will take care of the ISAMEA.
Reinforcing Panasonic’s growth strategy, Kazuhiro Tsuga, President of Panasonic Corporation emphasised on the importance of the India business during his recent visit to New Delhi. Reinforcing the company’s commitment towards India, Tsuga also met the Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to explore opportunities to partner India in becoming a manufacturing hub.
India was recently recognised as the sixth strategic region which will take care of the ISAMEA (India, South Asia, Middle East and Africa) as India is rapidly emerging as a growth leader for the entire Asia-Pacific region. Panasonic drives its product development, R&D, business solutions and its global sourcing base for mobile phones from India, further building on company’s commitment towards keeping India at the center of its growth plans.
During his visit, Tsuga not only reviewed the year gone by but also assessed the way forward to define the key focus areas for the region, keeping in mind the current national scenario and business dynamics.
For Panasonic, India has been a high growth market for the past seven years. Besides generating employment by providing jobs to about 15,000 people in India, the company has already made heavy investments and is now stepping up commitments vis-a-vis investments in India on localized products, talent, marketing and manufacturing units.
Talking about collaborating with India in its growth for new Government’s ambitious projects like ‘Make in India’ and 100 Smart Cities, Kazuhiro Tsuga, President, Panasonic Corporation, said, “Being in line to the motto of ‘Make in India’, Panasonic strengthened its relationship and roots in India with the establishment of its largest manufacturing Unit Technopark in Haryana in 2012."
"India’s journey on becoming manufacturing hub would help in creating employment for people, besides accelerating the exports activity. Also considering urbanisation challenges, India has taken the right path to manage its urbanization better by the initiative of creating 100 smart cities and Panasonic India would like to partner India in achieving its dream of developing into a progressive nation," Tsuga added further.
