Haryana govt to set up Cluster Facility Centres to support MSMEs

With a view to support MSMEs and generate employment opportunities, the Haryana government will establish Cluster Facility Centres (CFCs) in Public Private Partnership mode.

As many as 29 such clusters have been identified for establishment of CFCs under the Cluster Development Scheme.

An official spokesperson said that a diagnostic study report has been prepared in respect of 19 clusters and submitted to the Central government for their appraisal out of which six clusters at Bahadurgarh, Panipat, Sonipat and Karnal have been approved for setting up CFCs by the central government.

He said that four additional CFCs are expected to be approved in the near future. The initiative is oriented to build social capital so as to strengthen collective action which would provide spill-over effects of economies of scale, credit facilitation, technology up-gradation, brand building and marketing, he added further.

A sum of Rs 3 crore has been received from central government as an upfront contribution for establishment of CFCs in Footwear Cluster at Bahadurgarh and Print and Pack Cluster at Karnal, he added.

The spokesman said that the Union Ministry of MSMEs is also setting up a tool room or technology centre projects at IMT Rohtak on 19.8 acres of land and an industrial growth centre on 10 acres land with investment of more than Rs 100 crore in each of these projects.

He further said that one technology centre would train about 10,000 trainees every year through various long-term and short-term training programmes in the area of precision tooling. The technology centre would also assist around 1,000 MSMEs by way of design and development of sophisticated moulds, dies, tools and equipment as well as consultancy services in related fields.
