With plans of growth in cloud computing, Google India Pvt Ltd, the India arm of India, will double its engineering staff in India from 300. The company’s cloud computing will focus on SMEs.
Mr. Piyush Ranjan, MD, Google India R & D said,” Currently more than 1,00,000 businesses use Google applications through cloud computing in India”.
On WebP developed by Google, he said that the new image format would bring down size of an image by 40 per cent but quality would remain same as in the case of popular formats like PNG and JPG. The enormous reduction in image sizes would not only lead to increase in speed of the internet, but also result in speeder downloading, he said.
