Dr A P J Abdul Kalam to inaugurate the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell at Cochin College of Engineering and Technology.
Former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, is going to inaugurate the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell at Cochin College of Engineering and Technology on Wednesday. On this occasion he will also inaugurate the ‘Innovations Exhibition’ designed and developed by Plus Two and engineering students and later address the student entrepreneurs.
The main aim behind the Cell is to develop entrepreneurial culture and foster growth of innovation and entrepreneurship among students as well as faculty. Its focus is to equip students with skills, which make them eligible for a wide range of career opportunities offered by global undertaking such as ‘Make in India’.
As per the release, the training strategies adopted by the college, ahead of its time, authenticate the tag line, ‘Inspiring Innovations’. The courses are designed is such way that it fulfils the demand of changing times to provide students with industry-integrated training and ensure that they get enough hands-on experience. The college also facilitates entrepreneurship ventures by its students. Along with many MNCs, the college maintains an exclusive association with startup village, a business incubator that focuses primarily on student startups.
According to the release the college provides direct access to startup village to students. The young entrepreneurs are granted privileges such as grace marks, and funding for their ventures. The college also offers supplementary courses on operating systems like Apple, Microsoft, Red Hat, which are much sought-after. Additional training sessions are provided by veteran entrepreneurs. The college known for its distinctive course structure and teaching has made a mark in the past four years in the area of technical education with its unique student motivation and intelligence developing curriculum.
