Tell us about the new device Save&Go by Kores India. How does it benefit its targeted users?
Save&Go is a secure, unique, user friendly 360o solution for mobile devices that safely and automatically transfers data from an old device to a new one in a zap, regardless of the difference of producer, model or operating system between the old and new device. The size of the device is as small as a computer USB hub and is portable.
Telecom operators and retailers have understood the importance of delighting customers with a complete end-user buying experience, not only as a differentiating tool but also as something that can generate additional revenue for every mobile phone sold from the store.
Save&Go benefits the end customer with the services like content management and personalisation, transfer contacts, sms, pictures, video, audio, backup content in a pen drive and restore on any other device in case your device is lost, wipe /reset a phone, print contact list of the phone and multiple account configuration and e-mail set-up (incl. corporate).
Save&Go has presence in around 16 countries. Why did you choose India now?
India is the world’s second-largest telecommunications market, with 950 million subscribers. India's smartphone-owning population is expected to more than double in 2014 from 156 million to 364 million people from a total population of 1.2 billion. We believe this is the right time to be in India as with the advent of the smartphone, people store all their important data on their phones including contacts, pictures, videos, sms and more.
How does it help retailers?
Save&Go currently supports over 3,000 phones with the number increasing rapidly. All our units are connected to a central cloud and are updated with the latest features on a daily basis. We also have a central reporting portal where retailers can login and see the transactions carried out in the stores with detailed information available from our cloud. It is a secure service that gives customers an authentic report of the transaction that has occurred. Most software have limited capabilities, including device support, and cannot offer complete data transfer solutions. We will introduce more value offerings to our retail partners in the near future.
How would you differentiate Save&Go from Samsung Smart Switch?
Save&Go is independent of any manufacturer. It is a retail-on-the-spot solution which is installed in the store so people don’t have to go home, install some software on their PC and then do a data transfer. Samsung Smart Switch needs to be installed on your PC at home and while it helps you switch to a Samsung phone, it doesn’t support you in switching from Samsung to another operating system. It also takes approximately 45 minutes to carry out this entire activity at home while it takes only 3 to 5 minutes to use Save&Go at a store and costs less than Rs 150.
What is the aim of MCE Systems in India?
Our aim in India is to create a large retailer network across the country to reach out to the masses and create awareness about the benefits of Save&Go. We want to bring more services such as Application Transfer, Trade In and MCE toolbox for mobile repair to India and provide high quality services and support ecosystem to all mobile users in India.
How do you plan on marketing and spreading the word for Save&Go?
We are trying to increase our footprints by being available in as many retail stores across the country as possible. We are using out of home advertising and in-store activations in partner retail stores and are promoting the service by engaging with relevant media and bloggers. We are also participating in relevant industry shows to generate deeper awareness.
What are your growth plans for Save&Go?
We are already working with the organised and unorganised markets in India. You will find Save&Go at The Mobile Store, Airtel & EZone Outlets. Using Kores’ vast distribution network pan India, we plan to begin distribution in 10 cities by the end of this month. Our aim is to reach 2,000 stores by June 2014 and approximately 10,000 installations in the next 2 years.
