In 2012, over a cup of tea, four friends pondered over sartorial matters, united by a general sense of desperation and woe. "Why is it so difficult to find a shirt that fits correctly?" asked one. "Why is it so hard to find a shirt with character, something a little more 'out of the box'?" asked another. "Such garments can surely not be so elusive!" they chimed together
During travels, they had each witnessed the British wearing impeccably made shirts, and yet they could not find anything comparable back home. And then it struck them! They could create the solution to the problem! That solution would be to combine the precision and sleekness of classic English tailoring, with the flair and flavour of Indian culture. And so it was, that The Stiff Collar came to be.
We set out to be a company that ensures a 'quality final product' with the hope of creating an experience for every customer. Just like every other beginning, ours was small too. Our persistence overshadowed the minimal resources we started off with and today, fortunately, we have grown substantially. With an untiring attitude towards a bigger goal, we intend to set new trends, creating new style statements, at revolutionary prices yet never compromising on the quality of our products.
Inspired by the English and their stiff-upper-lipped attitude, we knew we wanted our shirts to be of a certain calibre, with one aspect remaining common throughout - the collar. Whether it be a button down collar or a mandarin collar, the collar defines the shirt and the shirt defines the man. We decided to go further and refine what defines him. We want to give ourselves a straightforward name that related to our mission, and nothing could be more fitting than 'The Stiff Collar'.
