Our story begins with S. Makhan Singh Anand (1922 - 2004), born in Bhaun Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. In 1935, he relocated to Srinagar, India, where he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey in the green tea business, starting in the wholesale market of Maharaj Gunj. His dedication and integrity propelled him to success, earning him a prominent reputation.
Expansion and Legacy:
Over the years, S. Makhan Singh Anand extended his business to Amritsar, Punjab. His unwavering commitment and hard work laid the foundation for a thriving enterprise. His son, Joginder Pal Singh Anand, joined him after completing his graduation, and in 1974, they established "Green Tea Company" (GTC) in Srinagar. Despite the challenges posed by regional turmoil, GTC ensured the steady supply of premium tea from Assam, Bengal, and Darjeeling to customers in Srinagar, Kargil, and Ladakh.
Next Generation:
In 1995–96, Gurpreet Singh Anand, the grandson, joined the family business at Maharaj Gunj. During a turbulent period in Kashmir, he and his father successfully maintained the business. Gurpreet, with his youthful energy and vision, diversified into exports of carpets, shawls, stoles, chain-stitch, and crewel under the brand “Anand Creations,” establishing a new export setup in Delhi.
With the invaluable support of his mother, Mrs. Jasmohini Anand, Gurpreet achieved remarkable success, earning the All India Highest Export Award in chain-stitch for two consecutive years (2007–08 and 2008–09).

In 2014, inspired by his mother’s dream and vision, Gurpreet Singh Anand launched “JAGS Food Industries Pvt. Ltd.,” based in Amritsar. The name “JAGS” was chosen to honor family members, with each letter representing a family name.
JAGS Food Industries focuses on delivering high-quality products rather than sheer volume. Starting with tea, rice, saffron instant mix tea, and expanding into honey, dry fruits, and whole spices, JAGS has quickly established itself in the market. The company offers both bulk and consumer packaging options.
