NComputing adjudged the \'Greenest\' Technology at the Express IT 2014 Awards

NComputing, the leader in client virtualisation solutions, was adjudged the 'greenest' technology at the Express IT Awards 2014. With over 300 companies contesting this year, NComputing won the Gold in the 'Green Technology Awards' category for its commitment to environment sustainability through technological innovation. Zoho Corporation and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd both won the Silver award in the same category. The other nominees included companies such as IBM India, HTC Global Services, SAP Labs and SwaaS Systems.

The Express IT Awards is an initiative of The Financial Express, which recognise fresh thinking that creates value. The awards discover, recognise and reward IT initiatives that have enabled businesses to go beyond the ordinary and also have had a positive impact on the community at large. For years, these awards have served as a benchmark for excellence across IT/ITes sector.

NComputing was adjudged the winner in the 'Green Technology Awards' category for providing one of the most novel, green and affordable Desktop Virtualisation solutions that lower desktop computing costs, improve manageability, and reduce both energy consumption and eWaste.

By deploying NComputing, organisations can reduce CO2 emission, electricity/power backup costs and eWaste by up to 90 per cent by putting their IT infrastructure to optimum use by repurposing their existing computing assets. The solution is so simple to deploy that post-deployment organisations can manage it easily without increasing their budget or staff.

Monali Handa, Director of Marketing, Asia-Pacific, NComputing, Inc., who received the award in a grand ceremony held recently in Bengaluru, said, "On the strength of its technologically innovative and environment-friendly solutions, NComputing has taken computing to millions of users situated in some of the remotest corners of the country. The results have been very successful for our company, our clients and communities across the globe."

"With over 1.3 million seats deployed in India in the last 5-6 years alone, NComputing solutions have helped hundreds and thousands of education institutions, businesses, enterprises, governments and non-government organizations in the country to ensure availability of PCs to their stakeholders in one of the most cost and energy efficient manner. The unparalleled price-performance advantage and energy savings that NComputing solutions offer are the key factors behind the company's success," she added.

Incepted in India in 2008, NComputing grew at an incredible rate with its shipments growing by 62 per cent in 2013, making it the undisputed leader in desktop virtualisation space with 74.6 per cent market share. This has been the fifth year in a row that NComputing has retained its leadership position over its traditional rivals in the Indian market. In the Asia-Pacific market too, NComputing continued to retain its leadership position in 2013 with 24.4 per cent market share. In H1 of 2014, the company deployed 88,489 seats in India, according to the IDC Worldwide Enterprise Client Device Tracker 2010-2013
