MSME-Development Institute (Ministry of MSME) Govt. of India in association with National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and Power Grid Corporation Ltd at Lassipora-Pulwama has organized a one day State Level Vendor Development Programme in Srinagar, as per the report by Rising Kashmir.
More than 40 existing Micro or Small Enterprises in Kashmir valley have been benefitted by this programme. The aim and objective of the programme was to create awareness about the Public Procurement Policy (PPP) announced by Govt of India in the year 2012 among the existing entrepreneurs.
“Minimum 20 per cent share out of the total procurement by Central Government Ministries / Departments / Public Sector Undertakings are to be made from MSE.” states, Virinder Shamra, Director, MSME Development Institute, Jammu quoted in the report.
He further informed that MSEs are registered with District Industries Centers (DICs) / Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) / Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) / Coir Board / NSIC / Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom or any other body specified by Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) are eligible for availing benefits under the Public Procurement Policy.
The programme witnessed the presence of officers from National Highway Authority of India, Central Public Works Department and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. They addressed the several queries raised by the local entrepreneurs of Srinagar.
