IAN funded OMAK Technologies eyes South Asian growth

Sri Lankan IT company OMAK Technologies recently completed a round of funding, enabling it to grow its business across South Asia via strategic partnerships as well as add new features to its existing range of innovative solutions. Further, these funds were entirely raised from the membership of the Lankan Angel Network and the Indian Angel Network, which has also already provided mentorship, networking and other forms of support to facilitate OMAK Technologies' success to date.

Recognised as one of Sri Lanka's most exciting tech start up's in the Echelon Magazine (November 2014) OMAK Technologies develops and customises software for all aspects of restaurant management and operations. OMAK Technologies secured its most recent round of funding following their first runner-up finish at this year's Venture Engine, the ongoing entrepreneurial competition spearheaded by the Lanka Angel Network along with Blue Ocean Ventures and the Indian Angel Network. In fact, this competition directly resulted in 18 Venture Engine-linked angel investors committing to invest in OMAK Technologies and its innovative product portfolio, which includes its flagship VDine Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution.

A continuously-monitored, function-rich SaaS that provides previously unheard of efficiency levels to the hospitality sector, VDine is a unique, all-encompassing restaurant managing system that minimises costs, reduces wastage and does away with mismanagement while, at the same time, boosting sales, increasing profitability and creating a streamlined and efficient operation with strong customer relationships.

Commenting on its strong links to the Lankan and Indian Angel Networks, Ehantha Sirisena, CEO, OMAK Technologies, pointed out the numerous benefits, besides funding alone, that these networks of angel investors have brought to his growing business. He also added that his company was pleased to further announce the launch of a new offering, a Sri Lanka-focused table reservations portal, which is also accessible to eateries not currently utilising the innovative VDine Restaurant Management Syste. An entirely web-based solution for restaurants that have high demand, it allows adding customers to a wait list queue.
