The ‘Annual Retail Summit 2010’ organised by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) concluded on Friday at The Shereton Hotel, Delhi. The event focused on entrepreneurial aspects of retail and aimed at taking one through the issues, aspects and challenges of the modern day retail scenario with a vision for future.
TiE also announced the ‘TiE Retail Innovation Awards’ to stimulate and nourish the entrepreneurial spirit and unique business ideas of individuals or groups. VG Siddhartha, Chairman Café Coffeee Day was awarded the Retail Entrepreneur of the Year, Ajit Joshi, MD & CEO, Infinity Retail Ltd was awarded with the Emerging Retailer of the Year award. Anita Lal, Founder Good Earth was conferred with the Woman Retailer Award, Yatra Online Pvt Ltd was recognised for Excellence in Supply Chain Management and Fabindia for Technology Innovation in Retail. The Future Group won the Retail Marketing Campaign of the Year award.
The event attracted aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs, the SME sector, successful entrepreneurs, industry professionals, angel investors, venture capitalists, policy makers, service providers, corporate, students and professionals from the retail sector.
The main speakers at the conference were Mr. Ashish Kapur (Chairperson - TiE Retail & MD - Yo! China), Mr. Arvind Singhal (Chairman - Technopak Advisors Ltd.), Santosh Desai (MD & CEO – Future Brands), Subhinder Singh Prem (MD – Reebok) and Rajeev Karwal (Founder, Milagrow).
