Nina Lekhi

An entrepreneur by profession and a role model for many aspiring entrepreneurs. Nina grew up in a middle-class family where women had never ever worked before. After facing her fair share of failures, she enrolled in to two courses and started working part-time. During this period, she learnt a lot of important lessons and gained customer insights on the ground. A positive attitude and passion to create were two of her strongest drivers. She started her journey from scratch and built a brand, which is purely made in India and competent to outshine globally-imported products, made in China.

Over the last few years, the brand has paid particular attention to making its retail concept profitable. The brand is riding high on confidence and is in a position to add 4-5 new stores every month across different cities in India. A testimony to that confidence is the fact that most of their franchises started out with a single store, have taken on multiple stores, and are not stopping anytime soon.

The franchise model has really made a solid spot for itself for brand’s retail expansion. The franchise model has been yielding good results so far for the brand

According to Nina Lekhi, “Women are making big moves in the franchise world and we are always encouraging more women to come join our resilient army. They are now outnumbering men when it comes to seeking information about franchise ownership – especially among Gen X and Gen Y demographic groups.”

She adds, “Future women entrepreneurs should be passionate and self-assured to pursue their dreams. A woman is a multi-faceted diamond, who holds the potential to shine through the darkest times and most challenging hurdles. My only advice is to completely isolate yourself from all the noise around them and stay focused on the path that you think is the best for you.”

Baggit firmly believes in resilience and pays homage to every single woman out there. They want to empower each dream and boost the self-confidence of many women. Their women-franchise model is one such initiative amongst the rest which aims at assisting women to open their own Baggit retail outlets, make a business of their own and be truly independent
