Ferns N Petals was established in 1994 and flower bouquet delivery was the first and only thing that the company was into. From just single flower shop in Delhi during 1994, Ferns N Petals is now the largest florist chain with more than 320 stores (and still counting) across all the major cities and towns of India.

 How has been your association with the brand Ferns N Petals?

I am operating FNP flower franchise for the past 13 years and four years back when FNP Cakes franchise was launched, I grabbed the opportunity to start it in my town and it’s been 4 years now and the response is amazing. Our association with FNP has been full of learning. In fact, I would rather describe it as a journey of self discovery. It gave me the confidence to become an entrepreneur being a housewife and mother of two boys. The journey so far has been very constructive one and it was always smooth sailing because of team support that includes family and work place 

 

 Kindly share your entrepreneurial journey.

Working amidst flowers had always given me a sense of satisfaction, I was always fascinated & in awe of flowers. The idea of opening a floral boutique finally happened in 2010 and since then there is no looking back.

 

How many outlets do you currently have?  

Currently we have 2 outlets in Coimbatore.

 

What is the secret behind running successful outlets? 

The real secret is team work. Building the right team and motivating them to perform yields you the best results and of course the merchandise and manpower support from our head office plays a very important role.

 

What are your future plans?  Are you planning to add more stores to your kitty of the same brand?

 

If Coimbatore has scope for more outlets definitely we will add more.

 

Your take on franchising!  Why did you choose the same to start your business? 

 

It is always better to opt for a franchise  as it comes with well established brand, tried and tested business model and a great support system be it manpower, supply chain, marketing, brand building etc.

 It must have been hard for you during the Pandemic. How did you manage?

Since our business model is omni-channel, the online sales played an important role in supporting the store. During the pandemic we were able to sustain because of this efficient model. Being in the gifting industry people made use of the online medium very effectively and this helped us immensely during the tough days too to sail through.

 A word of advice for young entrepreneurs.

I strongly believe that there is no short cut to success. Passion, patience, perseverance and the profits are sure to come but the journey is totally worth it.
